How-to-play-table-tennis
Teaching table tennis to beginners consists of the following steps and tips:
Basic Rules and Grip: Before you start learning to play table tennis, it is important to understand some basic rules. A table tennis game is usually played by two players on a table tennis table separated by a net, and each player must hit the table tennis ball to the other player's half of the table before the ball flies over the net and lands on the table and bounces to the ground. If a player is unable to hit the table tennis ball or returns the ball out of bounds or over the net, the opponent wins a point. There are two types of grips, straight and horizontal, so choose the appropriate grip according to your personal habits.
Basic Stroke Technique: Learning the proper stroke technique is fundamental, including forehand and backhand attacks. When using a cross-court racket, master the correct forehand and backhand strokes, learn to control the direction of the ball, and improve the power and speed of the stroke.
Footwork and movement skills: Table tennis requires quick movement to a reasonable position to hit the ball. Practice basic footwork, such as mini-steps, single steps, parallel steps, straddle steps, crossover steps, etc., and develop the habit of moving into position before hitting the ball.
Serving Skills: Serving is a very important part of the game and one needs to learn how to serve correctly and with high quality to gain an advantage in the game. There are many different types of serves, including side serve, backhand serve, crouching chop serve, etc. There are also many different types of spins, such as downward spin, upward spin, side spin, and running spin.
Defense: Defense is another important skill in table tennis. By practicing continuous defense, you can experience the key feeling of defense.
Doubles skills: Doubles matches require close cooperation with a partner, and it is best for beginners to find a master to guide them in order to gain an advantage in the match.
