How do you score ping pong

In table tennis (ping pong), the scoring rules are as follows:

Basic Scoring Principle: A point is scored when the opponent fails to make a valid return of the ball. This includes situations such as the ball hitting the ground on the opponent's side of the table after the player has made a legal shot, the opponent hitting the ball out of bounds (not within the boundaries of the table), the opponent hitting the ball into the net, or the opponent making a faulty serve.

Service Rules and Scoring:

The server initiates the point. A legal serve must be made so that the ball is tossed upwards at least 16 cm and then struck so that it first touches the server's side of the table and then passes over or around the net and touches the receiver's side of the table. If the serve is illegal (e.g., a "let" serve where the ball touches the net but still goes over and is otherwise a valid serve, the serve is retaken; other illegal serves result in the opponent scoring a point), the opponent gets the point.

After a successful serve, the rally begins, and the player who wins the rally scores the point.

Match Scoring:

A game is typically played to 11 points. The first player or team to reach 11 points with a margin of at least 2 points wins the game. For example, if the score reaches 10-10 (deuce), play continues until one player or team gains a 2-point lead.

A match can be a best-of-three games, best-of-five games, or best-of-seven games, depending on the competition regulations. The player or team that wins the majority of the games in the match is declared the winner of the match.

These are the fundamental scoring rules in table tennis, which ensure fair and competitive play in the sport.
