Prepare materials

Table top production

Sanding the table top: Use sandpaper to sand the table top from coarse to fine, first use 80 - 120 mesh coarse sandpaper to remove the burrs and unevenness on the surface of the plate, then use 200 - 400 mesh fine sandpaper to further sand the table top so that the table top is smooth. If there is a sanding machine, you can first use the sanding machine to roughly grind, and then finely grind the edges and corners by hand.
Paint treatment: evenly apply special paint for table tennis on the polished table top to increase the friction and durability of the table top. Generally, 2-3 layers should be applied. After each layer of lacquer dries, use fine sandpaper to gently polish it to remove surface particles before applying the next layer.
Table leg production
Cutting the leg material: Wood or metal tubing is cut according to the designed leg height (usually 760 mm) and shape. If wood is used, it can be machined to a rectangular or round cross-section; if metal tubing is used, it is usually round or square steel tubing.
Assembling the table legs: for wooden legs, they can be fixed by mortise and tenon joints or by using screws or carpenters' glue; metal legs are usually welded or bolted together. Ensure that the table legs are firmly structured and that all four legs are of the same height.
Table top and table leg assembly
Positioning and drilling: Mark the connection position at the bottom of the table top and the top of the table legs, and drill the holes with an electric drill. Drill holes to match the size of the screws used.
Connecting and fixing: Connect the table legs to the table top by screws, tighten the screws to make sure the connection is stable. Apply a suitable amount of woodworking adhesive to the joints to enhance the strength of the connection.
Net Installation
Installation of the net posts: Install the net posts on both edges of the table top, 152.5 mm from the end lines. The height of the posts is 152.5 mm and can be fixed with screws or glue.
Hanging the net: Hang the net between the posts, making sure it is taut and at the same height.
Checks and adjustments
Flatness check: Use a level to check if the table top is flat. If there are any uneven spots, adjust them by putting shims at the bottom of the table legs.
